Elaina and John’s wedding at the Woodmark Hotel was one of my favorite weddings of all time. The hotel is absolutely luxury.

I’ve shot my fair share of weddings, but this one felt different — in a good way. It had all the elements of what makes my job awesome: a chill couple, a killer location, and that perfect, soft pre-sunset light that makes everyone look their best.

They timed the ceremony with a photographer’s dream in mind — that golden hour when everything looks like it’s been touched up in Photoshop for real. The natural light was just showing off, giving us a backdrop that made every shot feel a little more special.

As we moved from vows to cocktails, the atmosphere stayed laid back. The sun started its descent, the mood was light, and you could tell everyone was just there to have a good time and celebrate Elaina and John’s next chapter. That’s what it’s all about, right?
